Member survey results

During the past month, we were busy gathering feedback on SCU through our member survey. We wanted to find out where we stand in terms of service and product offering and how satisfied you are with us. We want to thank every one of the 2,657 members who took part in the survey we conducted in March.
We found that the majority of our members are satisfied with SCU overall and the majority of members who had contact with us reported that they had exceptional or at least satisfactory service. This gives us great encouragement and we hope that we can continue to provide good service to all our members.
When asked whether SCU should add the word ‘bank’ to its name, almost 9 in 10 said it would make no difference to their daily banking or can’t say at this point in time.
This question was asked because of new government reforms to banking which may allow credit unions and building societies to apply to APRA to use the term “bank” in their name. At this stage, SCU just wanted to get an idea of how members would feel about a change such as this. Click here for more info about the reforms.
Half our members said they recommended SCU to friends, family or work colleagues in the past year. With the recent launch of our Share the Love member referral program, you can now receive an incentive if you recommend someone and they become an active member - share.scu.net.au
Most members believe SCU’s daily banking accounts are suitable for them, around a quarter reported that our cash investments are competitive, and around a third said our loans are competitive.
The findings were very positive and they have given us some guidance in the direction of our current and future product offering, service standards and strategies.

As we do not own any of the rediATM's we have to pay a fee to the ATM owner for each transaction conducted by members. No direct charge is paid by the member when they do a transaction at a rediATM.
With non-rediATMs the transaction fee is paid by the member at the time of the transaction and this commonly referred to as a "ATM Direct Charge", usually an amount of around $2.00 per transaction, and is part of the overall withdrawal processed against the member's account. This is why the fee for non-rediATM transactions is lower because the member pays the owner of the ATM for the transaction cost as a part of the withdrawal.
