Smart banking

I find the growth in mobile usage amazing – especially the pervasiveness of smart phones. It seems that everywhere I look, someone’s using a smart phone.
In a recent study by Google and Ipsos research, 30,000 people in 30 countries were surveyed to uncover how they use their mobile phones. It was found that 37% of Australians have a smart phone, the second highest penetration in the world only to Singapore!
With this increased penetration of smart phones also comes increased usage of apps and other features. The convenience of a smart phone means you can do almost anything on the go, including checking your emails, looking up directions, social networking or online shopping.
The Google research showed that 48 percent of Australian smartphone owners use their device to do their banking.
Here at SCU, we recently launched mobile banking to meet this growing need and to provide extra convenience to our members. So now you can check account balances, transfer funds between accounts or make BPay payments - all while you’re commuting, sitting in a waiting room, or even when you’re just at home.
To get started with mobile banking, just find scu.net.au on your mobile and select “Mobile banking”. You can even save this in your favourites for easier access.
