“Formed for community benefit as a result of the Karpaty Ukrainian Credit Union and SCU merger in January 2010”
The Karpaty Foundation provides grants to individuals and organisations for the purpose of building a fair, just, creative and caring society - particularly in relation to the Ukrainian community in Australia and in Ukraine by:
- Enriching individual and civic life
- Improving the lives of people impoverished from social or cultural disadvantage
- Strengthening democratic values and participation

Promoting creativity, innovation, tolerance, and the fulfilment of potential for the betterment and improvement of community values in society, with a focus on:
- Education & Scholarship
- Arts & Humanity
- Welfare & Wellbeing
- Sustainability and Environment
- Heritage & Society
- Special Projects (such as Leadership in Society) as may be determined from time to time.

On 22 March 2012 Grants were allocated to eight applicants for specific projects that each group had outlined in their respective applications. The applicants successful in receiving funding in this round were:
- The Bishop Ivan Prashko Memorial Library & Museum for publication of a booklet
- The "Yellow Blue Bus" for the launch of a CD
- The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO/CYOA) for Hopak in the Park
- Plast Ukrainian Youth Association (Federal Executive) for a leadership training programme
- Zahrava & Veselka Ukrainian Dance Ensembles for a joint project
- The Ukrainian Educational Council of Australia for its national teacher's conference
- Ukrainian Youth Association (National Executive) for the publication of its Policy, Procedural & Operations Manual (Pravyinyk)
The first Scholarships were also approved for students wishing to participate in the summer school Ukrainian language programme at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Applicants successful for scholarships were:

Grant or Scholarship Application
Requests for a Grant or Scholarship must be made on the designated Grant Application Form or Scholarship Application Form and accompanied by a letter. Grant and Scholarship applications may be submitted via mail or email and should be addressed to:
